Strictly Come Dancing

I worked as part of the Strictly digital team as Lead Digital Producer for six series, spanning 2017-2022. During my time on the show, I was instrumental in creating the tone of voice and leading on all copywriting across social platforms, the brand website and original content scripts. This fast-paced studio environment required strong editorial judgement and an eye for accuracy at all times, which I consistently delivered, maintaining high standards across all of the show’s highly-engaged platforms.

In addition, I led on weekly shoot coordination, set dressing and producing talent on camera, as well as building strong digital strategies to launch on new platforms such as TikTok. Creative ideas were a must on the BBC’s flagship Saturday night entertainment show, so constantly coming up with new concepts, being embedded in the content capture, editing and posting process - as well as managing the Strictly accounts with millions of followers - were all in a day’s work.

Our 2019 Baby Shark x Strictly remix placed all of the competitors in the world of a huge online trend, spreading awareness of the show across the globe. This video has amassed over 145 million views on YouTube alone!

I got creative in 2022, scripting a whole Stranger Things spoof to mark Strictly’s Halloween special. This fun video combined iconic scenes and references from the Netflix drama with in-jokes from Strictly, creating a hilarious star-studded remake.

Not only would our content go far and wide online, but often it would be featured during live TXs, reaching even more fans in the millions. This was testament to the high quality production of everything we created, its shareability and wide appeal.
